Ben's preschool teachers were thoughtful enough to have Ben celebrate his birthday a month early today with his friends at school, since Wednesday will be the last day of class. I had so much fun joining in the festivities, which included arm painting for the whole class, cupcakes, a birthday crown, singing, and the "share bag." I know some people who say they liked having summer birthdays as a kid, because of the opportunity for swimming parties, while others felt bummed that they didn't get to celebrate with friends during the school year. Not sure how Ben will feel about it in years to come, but for today, problem solved!
